   Proposal Description:
   The goals of the proposed research is to assimilate previous research findings    on the conversion from mild cognitive impairment (MCI) to Alzheimer???s           disease, and to identify if, and the extent of the use of various statins as a    factor in predicting the conversion from MCI to Alzheimer???s disease. To         address the gap in the research, this study aims to provide greater context of    disease progression trajectories for Alzheimer???s disease, and various           contributing factors.                                                             The specific objectives involve testing the hypothesis that statin use has an     effect on mild cognitive impairment (MCI), which can influence the conversion     of mild cognitive impairment to Alzheimer???s disease. What is unknown is the     nature of this relationship, and its direction and impact on MCI. Through the     use of longitudinal data, we seek to address this relationship in an              exploratory fashion with the hope of gaining a better understanding of the        etiology of the disease.
